5 Fitness Trends in 2021
Due to the unpredictability of COVID-19, many people are switching up their workout routine and adapting to this new normal. To help keep you informed, we wanted to share some top trends we see in this upcoming year.
1. Home Gyms
Because the gyms have been closed for most of the pandemic, many people are starting to build their own home gyms. Not only does it make it more convenient, but it also allows you to personalize your own home gym based on what you typically would use there. Because of the convenience, it makes it more difficult to find excuses not to do the exercises.
2. Wearable Devices
Wearable devices have continuously increased in popularity. By 2025, the industry is expected to be worth over $70 billion. In addition to tracking your workouts, these devices also help with providing detailed information about your health, sleep habits, recovery, and depending on the device, it may also provide personalized recommendations.
3. Mind and Body Workouts
Change is always stressful. As a way to help people both mentally and physically, many people are turning to mind and body workouts to help get the heart rate up and relieve the stress away. One of the best mind and body workouts you can do is yoga or pilates. They are a great way to kill two birds with one stone.
4. Virtual Fitness
Just because we aren’t physically able to go to fitness facilities, many people are turning to virtual classes to get in their workouts. It gives you that in person interaction without having to be there in person. There are a variety of virtual classes from boxing to Zumba that you can do. In addition to virtual classes that are offered, there are sometimes workouts preloaded on some fitness equipment such as treadmills, stationary bikes, etc. that you can use.
5. Video Game Activity
Did you know that there are ways for you to stay fit through gaming devices? There are games such as Ring Fit and Just Dance 2021 that help get you up and moving. Depending on your preference, you can choose to play these games alone or you can invite friends who also have the game to “play” these games with you!
