Healthy Eating in 2021
Just because it isn’t January 1st doesn’t mean you can’t start healthy habits. The year is just beginning, and everyone is on different timelines. If you are looking for ways to eat better this year, we have some suggestions to help you get started.
1. Eat Protein With Every Meal
Studies show that eating protein promotes fullness, fat loss, and preserves muscle mass better than smaller amounts eaten throughout the day.
2. Remove the Junk Food From Your Home
The best way to start promoting better eating habits is by eliminating all the unhealthy items from your refrigerator and pantry. By doing so, you eliminate any temptations you may have.
3. Decrease Caffeine Intake After 12pm
To promote better rest, it is recommended to stop drinking coffee past 12 pm. Sleep is important, as it helps your body recover from injury. In addition, when you feel more rested, you tend to perform better and make healthier decisions.
4. Drink More Water
Not only does water help you flush your system of toxins, but it also helps keep you “full” to avoid overeating. Many people recommend drinking water before eating your meals to help with portion control.
5. Plan Meals For the Week
We all get busy, and when this happens, our healthy habits get thrown out the door. In order to help you eat healthier, choose a day, and make a point to prepare meals for the week. This will help ensure that you get a healthy and balanced meal.
6. Have a Support System
It can be challenging to stay dedicated to good health when others are not participating or supportive. Find someone who will encourage you to keep going and check-in in case you start to deviate from your goals.
