How To Incorporate A Healthy Lifestyle With A Busy Work Schedule
Life passes you by when you least expect it. You most likely think, “where did the time go?” Although we are busy on a day- to- day basis, it is crucial to make sure you don’t let your busy work schedule affect your health.
Our team here at South Coast Medical wants to ensure our patients are taking care of themselves. Having a healthy lifestyle doesn’t need to take too much time out of your day, but it is important to be mindful of your health. Here are some of our tips on how to maintain a work-life balance with your health.
Block Out Times For Yourself & Others
What is most important to you? Is it having the ability to workout? Or perhaps it is spending time with your family. No matter what it is, take the time to block out an hour to solely focus on just that. By allocating a certain amount of time, it not only gives you a fresh perspective, but it also holds you more accountable for accomplishing the tasks that are most important to you.
Multi-Task
Even if you need to take a phone call, answer an e-mail or listen to the news, there are still ways to accomplish those items while working on your health. The next time you have a phone call, walk and talk. Answer your emails while you ride a stationary bike. Run while you listen to the news or a podcast. You can never say you don’t have the time to work out when you can accomplish all of those tasks at once.
Eat Healthier Food
You know what they say… you are what you eat. By eating healthier food, you won’t only feel better, but you will have more energy to get you through your busy day. To promote a healthier lifestyle, make an effort to meal prep and to stock up on healthy snacks at your office to prevent you from going and getting quick fast food snacks.
Drink Water
Water is essential to good health. Not only does it flush the toxins out of your system, but it also gives you the energy you need to keep going throughout your day. Make it a point to refill your water bottle throughout the day. Not only will it help keep you hydrated, but it will also get you to stand up and walk.
Get Sleep
Without sleep, you will not be able to function during your daily activities, and you will be more liable to making mistakes. Even though you may have important tasks to take care of, slowly ease your mind off of those items before you go to bed. Otherwise, it could keep your mind active and prevent you from going to sleep.
